Services Policies

When you purchase a service on our website, either by choosing a task from our customization library, purchasing a block of customization time, or by paying for a custom quote you have received from us directly, you agree to abide by the following services policies and terms.

Granting access to your store

In order for us to complete any work on your store, we need to gain access to your Shopify administration area.  In order to do so, we will request a collaborator account.  This allows our service and development teams access to your store in a secure manner that you can modify or revoke at any time.  Before we can request access, we will need the four-digit collaborator code.  To learn more about this process, please see this guide from Shopify.

When we request a collaborator account, we have a set grouping of permissions that we use for all stores.  If you feel uncomfortable granting access to an area that we have requested, you are free to uncheck the box for that area when you approve the account.  If you have questions about the access we need, please feel free to reach out to us.

We do not accept staff accounts for stores for several reasons.  Firstly, Shopify strongly recommends using collaborator accounts when hiring developers for your store and saving your staff account seats for actual staff members.  Secondly, a staff account requires us to share user names and passwords among our staff, which is always a security risk.  Collaborator accounts allow our whole team the access they need to complete your job.

It is important that you send a quick reply to your existing email chain with us once you've approved our collaborator account request because we don't get a notification.

How we work on your store

Once you have paid for your job and we have access to your store, your work will enter our customization queue and will be completed in the order received.  We always provide you with an estimated timeframe for completion when you send us a request.  If you have purchased a task from our library, most of those tasks will be completed within 2-3 business days after we have access to your store.

Unless you specifically request otherwise or your job is exceedingly simple, we will be creating a duplicate of your live theme (or whatever unpublished theme you ask us to work on) and complete our work on that version.  This way, you can test your customizations prior to making them live on your store.  Since this is the case, we ask that you do not make any additional code changes, theme customization changes, or install new apps that affect the front-end of your live theme while we're working on your customization.  We request this because any changes you make to your live theme while we work will not be present on the theme we're working on.

If you need us to copy our changes to your live theme (or a different theme) later, this may be subject to additional quote. If you must make changes to your live theme while we work, we suggest keeping detailed notes about what you've changed so you can be sure to copy those changes to our theme version when we're done. Note that you are free to continue working on your products, pages, collections, blogs, store settings, etc. while we work, as these won't affect what we're doing.

When we begin work on your customization, you'll likely see a new theme in your unpublished themes area with the words "Enhancify Dev" in them.  This should serve as your notice that we've started work on your job and to avoid making changes to your live theme from that point, if possible.

When your work is ready for your review, we will contact you with information on which theme we edited, a link to preview our work, and any additional instructions that are necessary to preview or setup your customization.  If you are happy with the work, you can simply publish our theme version as your live theme to make our changes live.

Revisions

We understand that revisions will be part of many customization jobs.  We will do our best to accommodate reasonable revisions for your tasks, as long as they are within the scope of the original job, and are requested in a timely manner.  We ask that you please review and test our work within a period of one month after we complete your job.  If we don't hear from you within this timeframe, we will assume that you are satisfied with the work. Any additional revisions required after this point may be subject to additional quote.

Updating your theme later

It's important to note that if you decide to update your theme version later, any custom coding that has been done on your theme will not automatically transfer to the new version. The price we quote for your job does not include copying this functionality to new versions later on.

If you specifically request it before we've completed the work, we can provide you with the file names and line numbers of code we edit as part of this job so you have a record. Please note that, depending on the complexity of the updated theme version, the file names and line numbers may not match exactly in the new version, so it may not be a simple copy and paste job to get the code added and working in a new version.  If a more extensive update has been done to the theme's codebase, it is possible that our coding may need to be repurposed in order to work properly.

If you do elect to update your theme version again down the line and need some help moving your customizations over (whether done by our team or by someone else), feel free to reach out to us if you need help bringing it over. For work completed by our development team, we can typically do this for you at a lower cost than you originally paid, unless the theme has been substantially updated since our work was completed.

Errors, inaccuracies and omissions

As much as we try to avoid them, we are human beings and occasionally make errors.  We do our best to test the work we do prior to sending it to you for review, but occasionally things slip through.  This is why we work on unpublished copies of your theme and ask you to thoroughly test our work prior to making our theme version live.  Still, we realize that occasionally, errors will popup down the line after you've published the theme.  If the error is a result of our coding or something we missed, we are committed to addressing it for you in a timely manner.  Please contact us with your concerns and we will promptly look into any issues for you.  Note that if we find that the issues you are encountering are not related to our coding, addressing them may be subject to quote.

Please be sure to review our full Website Terms and Conditions for other information and policies.  Thank you.
